How Advertising Increases Sales
All over the world, thousands of adverts are made to market a wide variety of products-telephones, dishwashing detergents, delivery services, computers, cellular phones, clothes, cars, home furnishings, and so on. A whole range of commercial products have benefitted greatly through these adverts that convince people to spend and splurge.
So what are the qualities of an advert that encourage people to purchase a certain product or service?
First of all, it should possess high awareness value. If, at the first look, it attracts the consumer's attention right away, then that is a sign of high awareness value of an ad. Next is the problem-solving aspect of the advertisement. What particular issues of you, as the consumer, does it solve? Does it make your life easier and more convenient? A good advert also possesses recall value. It should be able to make a lasting impression on the consumers. An advertisement is not effective if it does not live up to the image of the product that it markets. It should be straightforward and not make outrageous assertions. It should also remain honest to the claims of the product as per attested by the company that makes it. Advertising introduces potential customers to a product, but it is the quality of the product itself that keeps them and retains their loyalty. Likewise, an advert should have enlightening qualities. It should have educational value and should be able to instruct the masses about the uses of the product that it markets.
If an advertisement possesses all of the characteristics mentioned above, it is able to influence the purchasing decisions of the consumers and entice them to go shopping. Indeed, any retail store selling the advertised product or service will surely boost its sales and profit at the end of the day.
